Hey there, Expeditioner!

As you know from our last (and first!) newsletter, our purpose at GE is to help people unlock their true selves via travel. Designing amazing Expeditions is our challenge and reward both - which we like to seize with passion and precision. 

Nitish, our founder and a super-traveller himself, has a clear vision around trip design. He often says - “We only plan trips that we ourselves would get excited to go for.” He’s travelled to 35 countries and done it all - from meditation in the mountains to snorkelling & scuba, diving into ancient cultures to learning about hyperlocal food wherever he goes. He believes in staying far away from mass-y tourist trails to walk the path of lesser-known, unique experiences, and the opportunities they open up to go inward. 

And so, we approach each Expedition with the goal of bringing an intricate balance - with cultural authenticity, growth through physical or other adventure, community & storytelling, and ofcourse fun.

How does this translate on-ground into the actual Expeditions? Enter, Dimensions.

Each Dimension at GE is a specialty-activity world of its own, focused on immersing you in itself. For example, our Rewire Dimension is all about learning or upgrading a skill. Any experience in Rewire - from speaking a new language to learning martial arts or going deep on ancient herbal remedy prowess, will help you level up while you travel. 

In Iceland, it is 

REV IT UP

Designed for those who love adventure & action, this Expedition’s Rev it Up Dimension brings the conclusive physical rush, blending adrenaline & awe to find your new limits.

We take you across Iceland’s otherworldly landscapes in super-jeeps, push you with a glacier hike, challenge you with icy waters of the Continental Drift to snorkel in, walk into an ice cave, and more. Through each Dimension activity, we forge a connection with fellow Expeditioners, and also raw nature and a sub-zero climate in one of the planet’s most visually striking regions.

The physical challenges are balanced out with a geothermal hot spring soak, Northern Lights, lava tunnels and historic waterfalls. 

Every Expedition has its Dimensions - sometimes it focuses on just one like in Iceland, or is a diverse mix of many as in Japan & Kenya.

Immerse yourself in Japan

Japan is a mix of the old & the new, so it offers a baikingu of Dimensions to us! (Baikingu means ‘buffet’ in Japanese). We have -

    • Deep Dive - local culture immersion, from sumo wrestling to an ancient tea ceremony

    • Flavor Savor - What is a Japan trip without local food? From sushi making to teppanyaki meals and a special ramen dinner!

    • Recentre - The Japanese are as historically as spiritual as Indians (if not more). We lean into this with a Zen monk-led meditation

    • Afterparty - From the quiet to the noisy! We explore Japan’s nightlife in Tokyo & Osaka

Along with these full-spectrum Dimensions, we explore Mt. Fuji, local markets, Samurai lore, ancient shrines, hidden izakayas and some of their famed gardens.

The Call of the Wild(ebeest)

Kenya is raw, untamed and teeming with life, a real safari for the soul! We experience Masai Mara and everything it has to offer - wildlife-related and otherwise.

    • Deep Dive - We meet a Masai tribe, learn their traditions, stories, and way of life firsthand

    • Rewire - You can capture the magic of the savannah with our pro-led wildlife photography sessions, conducted by our in-house trip expert Nithin Bharadwaj. 

    • Afterparty - We celebrate the Expedition with a sundowner at sunset in the Mara

    • Rev It Up - We take in the beauty of Masai Mara from the land and the air! We rise above with a hot-air balloon ride offering a once-in-a-lifetime perspective.

    • Rebalance - We go slow and easy with a walking safari near Lake Naivasha, immersing in the land and its fauna. 

Beyond these our adventure takes us through the open plains on game drives to hidden watering holes in search of the Big 5.
